Schön template type 2 adjustment template
The adjustment template by Walter E. Schön was a standard tool for record player owners in the 1980s. Conceived as a project aid for testing 70 pickups, it is still the perfect tool for adjusting pickups today. Walter E. Schön, as a mathematician and physicist and as long-time editor-in-chief of the magazine "Stereoplay", has transferred the basics of the background to the optimal adjustment into this template.
The main problem with the adjustment is of course the tracking error angle of each rotary tone arm, with the exception of the tangential tone arms and the "Thales" tone arm. For all others, the tracking error angle is of course always different, depending on where the pickup is at the time. Inside, outside or somewhere in between. This of course also means that there is a deviation from the optimal pickup.
The template is also worth investing in because the enclosed instructions are more like a mathematical treatise than instructions. The Schön template enables all settings and checks that can occur on a record player.
Without this template (of course there are others) a record player and the handling of it is only half as valuable.
