JJ Electronic ECC83S preamp tube 12AX7
The ECC83S preamp tube was developed by RCA in 1948 and is still produced in large numbers today. The version from JJ Electronic from the Slovak Republic, a specialist manufacturer of tubes, is characterized by low noise, low microphonics and high internal resistance.
The tube is a classic double triode for preamplifiers and can also be used as a phase inversion stage in tube amplifiers. Tonally, the tube has a soft, bluish tone and impresses with its low background noise.
A nice tube for sound tuning your preamplifier. It can also be used in various guitar amplifiers. The tube became widespread with the introduction of the Pro-Ject Tube Box. Here it was installed as standard. Therefore, the tube is also the right replacement part for defective tubes on your TubeBox.
Anyone who is familiar with tube amplifiers can use this tube for many preamplifiers that have a Noval socket. The American nomenclature 12AX7 corresponds exactly to the ECC83S.
